ASSOCIATION INSTITUT SMART GRIDS
Smart Grids, serving the ecological transition and the economic and ecological development of the territories.
‘Smart grids or smart grids that combine digital and energy systems technologies are the key to meeting energy challenges and territorial development. Through the innovations they develop, Smart Grids offer new services to citizens and the community: renewable energy, self-consumption, sustainable mobility, energy saving, energy storage.
The Smart Grids Institute created in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, under the aegis of local authorities, federates the regional ecosystem to serve local, national and international energy projects. It contributes to the influence of the first French energy region, the first energy exporter and a diversified energy mix. A land of innovation recognized beyond our borders and leader in R&D, patents and demonstrators in the energy sector, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes brings together a broad network of high-performance and innovative actors. Our region has undeniable assets to be at the forefront of the energy challenge and to be a leader in the development of the Smart Grids market estimated at several billion euros.
To found the Smart Grids Institute, an associative structure of 1901, opens to the acceleration of our cooperation projects. Patrick RAKOTONDRANAHY, the General Delegate, leads the partners and several projects are already supported by the Smart Grids Institute (higher education courses, seminars, local pilots, etc.). Partnerships between academic and industrial players of all sizes, competitiveness clusters, etc. are opportunities to achieve our collective ambition: accelerate Smart Grids projects around training, innovation and development. ‘ Sylvain HERBIN, President of the Smart Grids Institute
