Stronglight was founded in 1906 by Achille Haubtmann in the Saint-Etienne region, with the aim of manufacturing cycle components.

Stronglight is still one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of components and spare parts for the cycle industry. Having developed well-known brands such as Solida and Stronglight, and equipped famous cyclists, the company is still one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of components and spare parts for the cycle industry. Stronglight employs 60 people at its Saint-Etienne site in France.

For over a century, we have been developing our skills in forging, cutting and machining metals, particularly aluminium. Indeed, Stronglight made its mark before the middle of the 20th century with the use of this strong, light metal, which was still new to industry. Thanks to our strong capacity for innovation, our company is one of the leading manufacturers of chainrings, cranksets, headsets and bottom brackets.

In 2008, in addition to our traditional skills in drivetrains, we set up a components division by taking over the manufacture of plastic mudguards from Canyon. Stronglight’s experience has enabled us to complete this range with the production of aluminium mudguards.

And by extension, we are now developing luggage racks that fit our mudguards.

So we have a wide range that covers all the needs of the cycle market. We are present on the OEM market, where we supply European manufacturers. And also on the After Market, where we are present throughout Europe and beyond, through a large network of distributors.

Our products are positioned at the top end of the market, in particular with our exclusive chainring finishes in Ceramic-Teflon (CT²) or Titanium Oxide Electro-Ceramic (HT3).
