Objective
This call aims to support projects that reinvent common spaces by bringing them closer to nature, enhancing the sense of belonging, and addressing local needs.
Priorities
Application must address at least one of the following challenges:
Reconnecting with nature :
- Reorganizing transport infrastructure;
- Engaging with citizens to encourage the adoption of green mobility solutions;
- Co-creating green public spaces to harness their potential, such as improving urban cooling.
Ragaining a sense of community and belonging :
- Increasing accessibility and interconnection of public spaces through more sustainable transport;
- Improving degraded public spaces;
- Promoting local economic activities to allow citizens to access essential services and amenities within walking distance, thereby strengthening connections and fostering healthy, sustainable, and active mobility.
Prioritizing people and places in greatest need :
- Solutions to improve transport links between rural and urban areas;
- Solutions aiming for universal mobility as a key factor for social inclusion allowing everyone to move freely within cities, regardless of gender, race, beliefs or disability.
Prioritizing long-term needs, life cycle, and integration into the industrial ecosystem :
- Circular mobility, including shared mobility, addressing user needs without transferring ownership of products through sgared solutions.
Applications must achieve at least one of the following outcomes:
- Improvement in the quality of a defined public space through the implementation of the NEB approach;
- Enhancement of the quality of a public space through alignment with a local policy/strategy and implementation of the NEB approach.
Application must achieve at least of the following outputs:
- Products and services (including rapid prototypes of products);
- Co-design and co-management.
Eligibility
- Legal entities: including public or private entities, SMEs, educational institutions, research and technology organizations, consultancies, NGOs, or social entities. Applications from countries in the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) are encouraged.
- Location: Headquartered in EU Member States or countries associated with Horizon Europe.
- Consortium: Composed of 2 to 4 partners. At least two partners must be independent, and one must be a city, regional, or an entity affiliated with a city or region. If no partner is a city or region, the affiliated entity must provide a document proving affiliation with the city or region, or a declaration of affiliation signed by the legal representative of the affiliated entity.
