Objective

This open call aims at developing connected and safe waterborne digital systems.

Outcomes

Projects are expected to:

  • Strengthen safety and resilience of waterborne digital systems while taking into account both malicious intervention and system failure.
  • Improve system design addressing human factors issues in human/automated system interactions.
  • Ensure resilience, safety and security of waterborne digital and connected systems based on similar standards that applied within other sectors which apply safety critical digital technology and their application in safety critical conditions.
  • Design robust digital and connected waterborne systems including reliability regimes.
  • Establish methodologies enabling effective HAZOP analysis and validation of waterborne digital systems.
  • Strengthen software safety including functional analysis and reliability assessment.
  • Increase cyber security for operation and maintenance including software maintenance.

Eligibility

  • Each applicant must be a legal entity that is established in an EU member state or Horizon Europe associated country.
  • Each consortium must include at least three legal entities from three EU or associated countries. 

Activities must achieve TRL 5 or 6 by the end of the project.
