Objective

This call aims at strengthening European research area and European innovation ecosystems to deepen ties between universities/research institutes and the private sector.

Priorities

Projects are expected to contribute to at least four of the following priorities:

  • Integration of research institutions, universities, vocational schools into European innovation ecosystems by establishing better links with start-ups, SMEs, incubators, business angels and investor communities ;
  • Improve skills of students, and graduates including in the deep tech field in line with the New European Innovation Agenda in order to launch successful start-ups ;
  • Improve skills of other involved ecosystem actors to increase innovation potential and market uptake of new technologies ;
  • Strengthen connections between education institutions and other stakeholders of innovation ecosystems ;
  • Promote the availability of local talents supporting business acceleration and digitalization ;
  • Strengthen entrepreneurial activity concerning the development of innovation ecosystems and their interconnectedness across the EU in order to build innovative solutions ;
  • Increase youth employability and gender balance in collaborations.

Eligibility

  • The following entities are eligible: vocational schools, universities, higher education institutions, public authorities in the field of education and employment, innovation agencies, SMEs, deep tech companies, the European Innovation Council, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, start-ups, industry, research performing organisations, knowledge and technology transfer offices, associations, students and researchers.
  • Each applicant must be a legal entity that is established in an EU member state or to Horizon Europe associated country.
  • Each consortium must include at least three legal entities from three EU or associated countries.  At least one entity must represent a ‘moderate’ or ‘emerging’ innovator region and at least one entity must represent a ‘strong’ or ‘innovation leader’ innovator region.
  • The consortium must also include at least one educational institution or research institute and at least one entity from the private sector.
