Operation automation to support multimodal freight transport

The proposal should address all of the following aspects Identify gaps in automated transport technologies and logistics operations between transport modes and automated platforms; Assess the benefits of autonomous vehicles, rolling stock and vessels for multimodal logistics and the role/benefits of automated multimodal seamless freight transport between transport modes;
Objective
Promote the adoption of automated and decarbonised freight transport systems following a multimodal approach.
Priorities
- Clarify the operational automation requirements for seamless multimodal automated freight transport
- Clearly assess the benefits in terms of reduced social and environmental impacts and reduced logistics and freight transport costs, as well as the technological gaps of hub automation;
- Strategies to reduce investment costs and support the implementation of automated solutions for logistics and multimodal freight transport
- Establish synergies between research actions on multimodal logistics transport automation
Eligibility
Each applicant must be a legal entity. Each consortium must be composed of at least three independent eligible legal entities, of which at least one must be located in an EU Member State and at least two others must be established in a different EU Member State or Associated State. The activities should reach TRL 5 by the end of the project.
