Objective

To fund consulting firms for the following services: energy efficiency & renewable energy; waste management & recycling; supply chain sustainability; product design & lifecycle analysis; environmental compliance; circular economy; sustainable packaging; green certifications; carbon footprint reduction; training for open transition or water management.

Priorities

The following is an exhaustive list of eligible services :

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy :

  • Energy audits and evaluations to identify energy-saving opportunities;
  • Development of energy management plans and strategies;
  • Implementation of eco-energy technologies;
  • Feasibility studies and integration of renewable energy;
  • Assistance in obtaining grants and incentives for renewable energy.

Waste Management and Recycling :

  • Waste audits to assess current generation and disposal methods;
  • Design and implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs;
  • Compliance with e-waste regulations and responsible disposal practices;
  • Recommendations for reduction, reuse, and recycling of materials;
  • Training and awareness on proper waste management.

Supply Chain Sustainability :

  • Supply chain evaluations to identify inefficiencies and environmental impacts;
  • Recommendations for sustainable sourcing, logistics, and transport;
  • Supplier audits to ensure environmental and ethical practices;
  • Integration of sustainable supply chain strategies;
  • Development of supply chain sustainability policies and guidelines.

Product Design and Lifecycle Analysis:

  • Lifecycle assessments of products to identify environmental impacts;
  • Recommendations for eco-friendly design and materials;
  • Prototyping and testing of environmentally responsible product concepts;
  • Advice on eco-labeling and certifications for products;
  • Design strategies for disassembly and recycling.

Environmental Compliance:

  • Regulatory compliance evaluations to ensure adherence to environmental laws;
  • Development of environmental management systems and procedures;
  • Periodic reporting and documentation to meet compliance requirements;
  • Implementation of best practices to maintain compliance;
  • Training on environmental regulations and responsibilities.

Circular Economy Practices:

  • Design and implementation of product take-back and recycling programs;
  • Development of refurbishment and remanufacturing processes;
  • Consulting and development of strategies for circular business models;
  • Identification of new revenue streams related to circular practices;
  • Monitoring and reporting on circular economy impacts and progress.

Sustainable Packaging:

  • Packaging material evaluations and recommendations;
  • Design of sustainable packaging and sourcing of materials;
  • Waste reduction strategies for packaging;
  • Supplier evaluations for environmentally-friendly packaging options;
  • Lifecycle analysis of packaging materials to optimize sustainability.

Green Certifications

  • Readiness assessments and gap analysis for certification;
  • Advice and support for certification applications;
  • Assitance in meeting specific certification standards and requirements;
  • Support for maintaining certifications and managing updates;
  • Assistance with branding and marketing to leverage certifications.

Carbon Footprint Reduction:

  • Carbon footprint evaluations and calculations;
  • Development of strategies and action plans for carbon reduction;
  • Identification and implementation of carbon offset projects;
  • Monitoring and reporting on carbon reduction progress and achievements;
  • Communicating carbon reduction efforts to stakeholders and customers.

Training for Green Transition:

  • Awareness and sustainability training programs for employees;
  • Strategies for employee engagement in environmental initiatives;
  • Communication of company sustainability goals and values;
  • Training on eco-friendly workplace behaviors and practices;
  • Workshops and courses on environmental responsibility for staff.

Water Management:

  • Audits and evaluations of water usage to optimize consumption;
  • Recommendations for water conservation measures and technologies;
  • Development of water management plans and practices;
  • Design and implementation of wasterwater treatment and recycling systems.

Eligibility

  • Be an SME : fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover ≤  50€M or total balance ≤  43M€;
  • Industry sectors : SMEs must operate within the electronics ecosystem (radio, cybersecurity, AI, photonics, sensors, etc.);
  • Location : headquartered in an EU Member State, a COSME-associated country, or a country negotiating an association agreement;
  • Legal status : no bankruptcy or ongoing proceedings, no convictions for fraud or illegal practices;
  • Financial capacity : SMEs must demonstrate the ability to manage allocated funds;
  • Independence : SMEs must be independent of selected service providers without financial or personal ties.
